Pazhamudircholai – Aaru Padai Veedu –Alagarkovil, Madurai.Dedicated to Lord Subramanya (Vel Murugan), thebeautiful Pazhamudircholai temple is situated about 19kilometers from Madurai and 4 Kms above the Azhagartemple. This temple, on the solaimalai hill also known bythe names Vrishabhadri or Idabagiri, is one among the sixabodes of Lord Murugan. Here Murugan is worshipedalong with his companions Valli as Iccha Shakti andDevayani as Kriya Shakti and he himself is worshiped asJnana Shakti. The idol of the lord in the standing posturewith a single face and four hands is kept between thestatues of his consorts. The Vel of the lord made up ofstone is of special significance and is worshipped with agreat veneration by devotees.
